Mercedes-Benz continues to impress the auto industry with its release of 2020 models. Arriving later this year in the U.S. and to Mercedes-Benz of Caldwell, the all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV sets a new standard in luxury SUV’s. The 2020 GLS will be the third generation of the award winning model, and it comes with plenty of convenience and performance upgrades. The 2020 GLS redesign offers a redefined interior, increased technology, an electrified engine, and convenience features that push the standard of a luxury SUV further. The 2020 GLS comes with a sleeker exterior to improve aerodynamic performance, reduce noise, and improve fuel efficiency. New LED headlights also offer incomparable clarity and brightness, making road hazards easier to spot. The wheelbase of the GLS got slightly longer to accommodate changes to the exterior design and cabin size.

A large portion of the changes to the GLS came to the cabin. The third-row GLS now comes in 7-passenger and 6-passenger arrangements with the option for second row captain’s chairs. Both arrangements come with easy-entry features and large door openings to allow for anyone to enter and exit with ease. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS also boasts even more legroom and cargo space to complement its overall streamlined appearance. With the ability to fold down both rows of passenger seating, the GLS has more cargo room than ever before.

Stylish comfort is at the forefront in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS, with features like heated, power front seats in premium finishes like Nappa leather. Numerous comfort-optimized features like a reclining second row and available entertainment screens behind the front seats make it easy for all passengers to enjoy even the longest of road trips. Options like a larger panoramic sunroof and massaging seats heighten the satisfaction of one’s driving experience. The 2020 GLS comes with the MBUX infotainment system with smartphone integration, voice command capability, navigation, safety alerts and more. Also available in the interior of the GLS is ambient lighting with 64 different colors to match any mood. The convenience and safety in the 2020 GLS is a major improvement over the 2019 model, which was already luxurious.

Both the 2020 GLS 450 and the 2020 GLS 580 saw improvements to their performance and efficiency. The GLS 450 comes with a turbocharged, inline 6-cylinder engine capable of making 362 horsepower. The GLS 580 comes with a twin-turbo, 8-cylinder engine that makes an impressive 483 horsepower. Both the GLS 450 and GLS 580 further optimized fuel efficiency with adding EQ Boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that ads 21 horsepower of electric assistance to the engines.

In the 2020 GLS, safety is optimized with features like standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, an AIRMATIC® suspension system designed to adapt to shifting road and cargo conditions, and off-road packages for those in need of additional capability. Standard safety features like blind spot monitoring and automatic braking improve overall safety. Additional safety features and driver assists include smart steering, lane change assist, and adaptive cruise control to help add convenience and peace of mind (European models shown below).
